There’s something magical about getting away on a vacation.
A windy ferry ride included en route to the island. For a prairie girl, such as myself, open skies and water has that calming visual affect. Sigh.
There was lots of exploring to be had and discovering to be found on the beach.
Family celebrations and visiting.
No, that’s not our dog, but Auntie’s. Claire loves her and wants to hold her all the time.
Claire wants to hold every animal, including the eagle she spotted, “Bird! I want to hold it!”
We had a chance to visit the local island winery, Coastal Black.
This wine is so good (with fantastic designed labels to boot!)
The kids were happy picking wild flowers and eating soda crackers and water.
We got to taste many a wine sample. These wines are so unique and delectable. Sweet, but not too sweet. Tangy but not too tangy. Perfect paired with West Coast cuisine.
Our stroll back to the house included an impromptu daisy chain wreath making party. Bohemian with a dash of Green Gables, right here.
This daughter of mine used to run when I took out the camera, and now look.
So many adventures and sunshine meant a good night sleep.
Vacations are superb.
